Salt Puck Device Alerts / Updated September 17, 2026
Automated text alerts notify you about your enrolled puck's estimated salt level at the thresholds you select: 25%, 15%, 5%, and Empty. Choose any or all. Enabled text alerts also notify you after a previously reporting puck has not reported for 48 hours, with at most one reminder no sooner than three days after the first alert while the outage continues. If an outage alert was submitted to your enabled channel, we also send one connection-restored notice when reports resume. This confirms connectivity, not sensor accuracy. Verification codes and test texts are sent when you request them. Message frequency varies with device readings and refill activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase. Email and text preferences are separate.
Joining and leaving
Provide your mobile number in your signed-in account, select alert levels, check the separate text-message consent box, and request a verification text. Enter its code to enable alerts. Purchase, account creation, device enrollment and previous Ivy Services or Ivy Garage consent do not subscribe you. Once your number is verified and alerts are enabled, you can save new alert levels or your first name without repeating verification. Changing your mobile number requires verification again. A Send test text button is available for your verified, opted-in number.
Reply STOP to unsubscribe or turn off texts in account settings. Reply HELP for help, or email ryan@saltpuck.com. After a STOP request, contact support before re-enrolling. A text already submitted may still arrive. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Optional managed-service texts
Salt Puck service texts cover scheduling, visits, access issues and materials payment updates. They require their own explicit consent in My salt service, separate from sensor-alert settings. Staff coordination texts, for authorized staff only, cover assigned work and service exceptions and require separate staff consent.
Service texting is coming soon and remains disabled pending provider approval and setup. You may save a mobile number and service-text consent while sending is unavailable. Saving does not send a verification text, confirm delivery or activate service texting. Once available, use the displayed verification process; an already verified number belonging to the same account may be reused only after new service-specific consent. Prior sensor, purchase, subscription or other-brand consent is not transferred.
Service text frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is optional and not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or turn off service texts in My salt service. A carrier STOP may apply to messages from the shared sender, including other Salt Puck text programs; separate online service preferences do not override that STOP. Text opt-out does not cancel your service subscription, remove payment obligations or change email service updates. To cancel a plan, use its cancellation control in My salt service. Previously submitted texts may still arrive. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We retain consent, verification and message status records to operate the program and honor opt-outs. Accepted means the provider accepted a message, not that it was delivered or read. A visit can be completed while payment or messaging is still pending. Current invoice and visit status is shown in your signed-in account. Do not send door codes, passwords or card details by text.
Your readings and privacy
Each selected level normally sends once per refill cycle. If several selected levels are crossed together, only the most urgent selected alert is sent. Empty requires repeated valid readings. Offline notices describe missing reports, not an empty tank. New reports reset the outage cycle. Email alerts have separate settings and can be enabled with or without texts.
Salt estimates depend on your tank settings and sensor conditions. Delayed, missing or invalid readings do not establish an empty tank. Check your tank directly as needed. Managed service has separate enrollment and service-text consent; sensor alerts alone do not arrange a refill or enroll you in paid service.
We use your mobile number, name, consent and delivery records to provide this alert program through our messaging provider. Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers may process the information to operate and deliver the program. See our Privacy Policy.
